Chile Roasting Pueblo!

After a long slow morning, we finally got our acts in gear and headed to Pueblo for the Chile Festival. We could smell the chiles as we left the truck even though we were a good quarter of a mile away. Tons of people too.

Dan and I made rather a beeline though for the Musso Farms Chile roasting booth. We got a grab bag of chiles, onions, tomatoes, peppers and garlic. We also bought 3 bushels of roasted chiles. Pueblo and Big Jim chiles. If I had had more money, I’d have gotten 4 bushels instead of 3. We probably waited in line for 20 minutes. Not bad all considered. Then it was off to the truck and over to the other side of Pueblo to do the rest of the shopping.

We did our usual run of Vitamin Cottage, Walmart, Petsmart, and Sam’s Club. We didn’t get home until nearly 10pm. Yawnnnnn!!! A long day. Of course, when we got home, we had to unload all of the groceries and then bag chiles! They are all safe in the freezer.

Tomorrow is looking to be a busy day. I have at least two articles to write as well as stories for the Celtic Festival. Barbara Yule is also coming by to introduce me to my fellow storyteller for the school event. Joe Lang is his name if I remember correctly. He is from Scotland.

I got my picture from my highschool reunion in the mail today too. It looks pretty good.

Off to bed now! Poke a fork in me, I’m done for the day!

  1. We talked about coming down for this fun but is never seemed to go past the talking stage. Love the photo of you on your bio page. I am bored and just fooling around putting off doing my nigh work. I am reading and taping the International Plumbing and the International Gas code books for a guy at Adams work who although he can read retaining it just does not happen unless he can hear it. Such fun reading, not. It pays so I cannot complain but then I will be glad to be done and moving on to other jobs on my plate. Like mending real donkey jackets. One down, almost, one to go. Then there is that custom donkey I am making her for a gift. Going to have to start over on that as someone in the house threw a fit and wanted the first one to be his. I lost my interest at that point. I have tomatoes to cook up and freeze and grapes that should be jam but will probably hit the compost pile. Working a out of the house job does not leave much time for other things and I get overwhelmed by it all. Gee I guess I should get another blog where I can wine. Neat that you listed my blog in your listings, thanks. Hugs and miss you more than I can say.

  2. Maybe we can make a date of it for next year. I miss you too dear.
As for multiple blogs… I feel like the queen of them with 4 at
    the moment.

  3. That would be nice. Yeah, I started another blog last night, one to help me track homeschooling and make it easier to report it to the academy I enrolled him in this year. My problem with all of my blogs is they are not a place any more I can vent or cry in. Either I no longer trust who is reading them or they are too open for either the guys in the house and they would just not understand. So I fuss here and there.

    Hugs back at you.
