Instead of screwing in. Why not place a L bracket on the outer edge with a wood block on each side of the T-joint piece. With a large whole drilled through the blocks to insert a locking dowel through the T-joint. That makes it a fast connect receptacle box. On the end of the dowel piece add a block piece so the dowel does not work itself out. Less tools on set up the better.
