Sunshine!!!

Wow it was wonderful! I actually went somewhere without 3 layers of clothing and a coat! I think it got up to about 60 today. Happy dance!

The day started out a bit hectic. After my car being “ill” for the last 10 days, Dan finally got it working enough for me to drive it. There are still some issues, but… I can drive. So, I took the kids to school, went to the office and promptly got sent to bed. I had a headache, and Dan recognized it. So, I got aspirin stuffed in me, and me stuffed in bed so that I could sleep it off. I managed 3 hours before the phones just kept waking me up. Ah well…

My parents got here yesterday to work on their house some more. John and I had lunch with them at the Huerfano Cafe. It’s a nice little hole in the wall greasy spoon. Decent food. After lunch, Mom and I went to the local healthfood store. I got some things I needed and Mom got Wasabi peas. :>  Then we headed to the office where I did a bit of paperwork and got my new phone all set up. I finally traded mine in as the battery wouldn’t hold a charge. This one is an i710. Very sleek.

We headed over to Mom’s house and I helped her put shelf paper in her cupboards. Then it was off to pick up the kids and take Mom to the bank. Right now, I’m catching up on all the bits I missed earlier and waiting on an ebay bid. Wheee…..

What a week!

Oh my what a week! Here it is Saturday, and this is the first time I have had time to write.  Monday was busy with business. Tuesday my parents came in to town to work on their house on Cedar.

Wednesday was a full day. Took the kids to school and stopped by the office for a few minutes. Then off to Pueblo with my mom to do some shopping. We got curtain rods and bits and bobs for my house. Socks for Matt and Morgan, some groceries and then had a nice lunch at Applebee’s. Drove home in time to drop Mom off and then went to go pick up the kids.

After I got the kids, we went to Andy’s for dinner as the Science fair was on at 5pm. In the mean time, Dan had driven Beth to Denver so that she could take a plane to Vermont. I was a bit peeved, because I wasn’t sure he would get  back in time for the science fair. However, he drove like a speed demon, and got there in time to see the kids, their projects and enjoy the company of some of the parents. We headed home and then got some stuff done around the office.

Thursday, I got some work done at the office, and then my Mom, Daniel and I headed to Trinidad. Daniel had to go to his college class and Mom and I went shopping. We had lunch at Mission at the Bell first. Oh yummm! We got the stuff at Walmart and then picked up Daniel. Luckily, I didn’t have to pick up the kids, because they had a spelling bee and were dropped off in town. For dinner, we had a working meeting at Alys’. Dan treated us this time. Lovely lamb! Oh, and the fig upside down cake was heavenly.

Friday, We worked in the office and my parents headed home to the Grand Canyon. I had a headache, and got stuffed in bed for most of the afternoon. Today we were suppose to have builders come and finish up the door at 520. So far, they are 4 hours late, and we don’t feel that they will show at all. Oh well… Not that I am too concerned as it looks like it is going to snow. Dan got an ax and chopped up some of the deadfall from the wind storm last month.  The rest of the day, we are going to work on tiding up the office. aieeee!!!

Forgot to mention!

My mom and dad were here for three days. They bought a house which they are fixing up for when they move home from the Grand Canyon. So, I spent time taking mom shopping in Colorado Springs, visiting with them and enjoying their company!

Achievement!!!!

Gads, you’d think I’d done something grand… like won a prize or been awarded an Oscar. No, I just finally got some sewing done! I’ve had some stuff in the mending/finish pile for months. Specifically, two of John’s waistcoats. I either have no time to start or just can’t think on how to work on them or anything else. Then there was the horridness of not having a clear space to work. I finally got my sewing area which everyone calls Area 51 clean. They call it that because it is full of UFO’s… (Un Finished Objects)

 Area 51

Area 51 part 2

So, I had no excuse not to sew… urk..

Last night when I got home, I threw dinner together, tossed laundry in the washer and dryer and then after we ate, I went down to Area 51. First off, I got a corset cut out for Morgan (my D-I-L). Did some more laundry and then finished the repairs on John’s tan and green waistcoat. Shuffled more laundry and started working on his black and red waistcoat. It’s only been awaiting buttons for 3 years. However, I decided it needed finished. Tonight I will finish up the button loops. Biggest thing that has stopped me of course was the fact that it is reversible.

My parents arrived today as well, to make things just that much more complicated. They came to do more work on the house. Tomorrow, Mom and I are headed to Pueblo to buy material for curtains. Wheee…. More Sewing!
